Man, it has been a rough couple of days around here.
Emotionally rough. Anyone have any extra internet hugs to give out? Send 'em my way.
That's certainly not a way to get Motivation Monday kicked off but, I like to let you in on the happenings of my life, good or bad. Basically, my husband had to leave, and I won't be seeing him for the foreseeable future (5ish months). Even though it was rough, I am certain that this is for the best, and that it will help bring happiness to my family in the long run :)
ANYWAY.
I also have some good news! This:
It has been FRIGID up in here for the past week. I hate having to wear 3 layers of clothes to go running. It makes me feel bulky and sloooooow.
Luckily, our neighbor 3 houses down from us has a treadmill, and after seeing me run by her house when it was 6 degrees outside, told me to feel free and come use it whenever I wanted. (Big gasp of breath for my ridiculous run on sentence)
Ummm... OK, twist my arm.
She works from 10-2 so I just shuffled my curly self on over there this morning and did 7 miles of glorious, warm running.
Since it says that I burned 191 carbs, I assumed that meant I had to immediately replace them all. Right??
As long as the cold/snowy/icy weather continues, I see a lot of bonding time with that treadmill.
In other news, I've decided to make myself accountable for a few things that I NEED to work on. SO! I give you....
February Fitness Month!
(I was going to make a ballin' picture to go along with this, but it's 10:30 and I'm tired)
Basically, each week in February I'm going to challenge myself to work on some aspect of fitness/nutrition that I deeesperately need work on.
Why do it this way? Answer: I need a challenge. I am the type of person who needs goals and plans to succeed. If I just say "Nicole, you need to do some freaking sit ups," I'm all "YEAH I KNOW." But then I don't do them.
Basically I need accountability. Even if it's just through this itty bitty blog.
Each Monday (since Sunday is my rest day) I will post my goal for the week.
This week: STRETCHING!
My hip flexors have been sooooo tight lately. And listen, if I'm being completely honest... I probably stretch..... 28% of the time. Usually after my long run aaaaaand that's it. I NEED to stretch more. It's so important. I'm sure you've heard it before. Let's move on.
I'm challenging myself to stretch for a minimum of 20 minutes a day even on my rest days. I think you should too. We could play Words with Friends while we stretch.
More flexible AND smarter?! Why wouldn't you do this!?
QUESTION:
Are you good about accountability? Or do you need a goal to keep you on track?
Treadmills- yay or nay?

You have a great neighbor!!
